Come and settle in our sweet space.

We are located in a historic building in Grant Park, on the corner of Hill and Little. We've put a lot of love into working on an old building and bringing it to life as a yoga space. It is much more than a yoga space or studio though--we host community events, including social justice workshops, book launch parties, and poetry readings, and think of our space as a collaborative hub where yoga teachers and their students can build a supportive and loving community. Our building was once a grocery store, and after that a very vibrant church and community center. We hope to bring people together in the space just as it held together communities many decades ago. Come and check out our quirky, historic, warm, and inviting yoga space.

Here is some key information about all our classes and the general style of teaching at the space:

  • Both Lynn and Narin focus upon alignment and postural detail. Lynn is a certified Iyengar teacher and Narin is a certified Purna Yoga teacher. These traditions are connected, because Aadil Palkhivala, one of the founders of Purna Yoga, studied with BKS Iyengar for much of his life. Both Lynn and Narin are ongoing learners and study yoga through advanced trainings, classes, and workshops with master teachers.

  • We are a fully stocked studio and use props in our classes to support students and deepen poses. So expect to use some blocks, belts, and blankets.

  • We don't use music in our classes--music can be a distraction and pull your senses outward--we focus upon internal reflection and focus.

  • The studio opens 15 minutes before class time. We ask that you remove your shoes before class. All classes are taken barefoot on a mat. We have extra mats to borrow. Currently, we are offering private and semi-private sessions in studio along with several online offerings.

  • We believe in the careful, long, ongoing study of yoga and honor its roots and lineage. We may share some yoga philosophy in class, or may connect the teaching of poses to philosophical themes. Both of us learn and share the knowledge of a long and authentic lineage.

  • We encourage you to integrate yoga in your life. We work on asana, meditation, pranayama, nutrition, and philosophy and believe all of these should become priorities in our lives.

  • We may adjust or touch you in class to correct alignment or help to deepen a pose. Please let us know if you prefer not to be adjusted.

  • We believe yoga is a powerful therapeutic and healing practice which should be honored and taught carefully and safely--please do tell us if you are dealing with any issues or injuries.

Recent events at the Little Yoga Co-op include a poetry reading and book launch by Danielle Hanson, a series of racial justice workshops by Jen Wilsea, and a workshop/book launch for the Racial Healing Workbook by Anneliese Singh. We have also hosted an annual holiday artist market with the SE ATL Lady MOB (My Own Boss) group and support other community events.
